best option for PEK to Taiwan?

Will be in Beijing for work for a month and my mother reminded me that I have no visited my relatives in Taiwan since I was a little kid.

Coworker of mine said it is about 7 hours door to door for PEK to Taiwan. (I assume its Taipei airport)

What are some possible times for:
1. Leaving LATE friday (I assume it will have to be after work)
2. Leaving EARLY saturday
3. Flying back LATE sunday (so I can go back to work Monday morning)

What are some airlines I should look into?
I am sure there are small airlines that are not on expedia.

Thanks!

Well, you certainly want to go nonstop, so I believe you're looking at CA, BR, and CI. You can use *A miles for CA and maybe BR, and SK miles for CI... they're all basically the same on this route. Miles usually pencil, but sometimes there are worthwhile specials on revenue tickets that are worthy of consideration.

CA = Air China
BR = Eva Air
CI = China Airlines
correct?

I can use American Airline miles for CA and BR?
according to wikipedia, they are part of Star Alliance
but, CI seems to be with Delta...so not bad.

which airport do you recommend?
Taoyuan (TPE)
Songshan (TSA)

We will be going to Taipei and Keelung

AA is not part of *A, but UA is.

When I mentioned "SK" in my previous post, I meant to say "ST" which is SkyTeam (which includes DL, and a host of other airlines, but not SK).

If you can get a flight into Songshan, that will put you in the heart of Taipei and a lot closer to Keelung. If travelling light, you can just hop on the MRT from TSA and get to just about anywhere in the city quickly.

TPE is about an hour south of town.

I use CA (Air China), seems there have the most flights and fly into Taoyuan Airport. It seems only option into Songshan (TSA) is from Tianjin. Also flights out of Beijing Capital Airport are delay prone, so keep that in consideration in any tight schedule.

The faster I had a trip is from our Kaoshuing office, to our Beijing office at 6 hours door to door.

CI/CA.

If you don't care about connections:

MU, CZ, KE on ST.

Cathay via HKG, JAL via NRT/HND,

We care a great deal about connections, Fox; saving $50 to go via HKG simply isn't worth the hassle.
