outside internet cut off today

Thanks to my vpn, I'm able to post here, but something funny is going on. Comments on weibo have been erupting during the past hour, stating stuff like, "we're no different from North Korea".

Too many rumors spreading around.

i'm off vpn and can't detect any other than normal shenanigans. Gmail working reasonably well too.

Might be a location as opposed to more generic issue.

Our company has offices in 4 cities, and nobody was able to access ANY foreign sites between 11 and 11:40 this morning. Some of my colleagues were at the Coffee Bean downstairs at the time, and they said that it emptied out because people assumed there was a problem with their LAN. Skype worked throughout because they have local servers (tom.com).

Yeah, timing was super horrible for me.

I rearranged my whole day so I can watch the NHL Hockey game online, paid for the package and then NO INTERNET.

Missed the first game. (mind you my team lost so I guess it wasn't too much of a loss)

Internet was very spotty until after 3pm when it started to partially restore.

Too many protests happening Chongqing way.

Nonetheless, there does seem to have been a widespread problem.
