IAD-PVG: Need some advice.
I never do this and usually just use tripadvisor(or similar) but I figure why not use FT also;)
Most likely heading to PVG for the Formula 1 race in 3 weeks and this will be my first time in Shanghai so could use some advice. Most likely will be staying at the Radisson Blu. So, just need to know the basic stuff from you guys that fly to Shanghai often. 1. What hotel would you recommend(other than Radisson Blu)? I'd like to stay central so i can explore when i'm not at the track for quali/race. 2. Best way to get from PVG to Radisson Blu or recommended hotel? 3. I like to eat and drink(and drink some more) so any specific restaurant/bar/club that I should check out? 4. Must check out places? If any of you watch F1 make sure you look out for the guy running around naked, ha ha i kid i kid. If any of you will be in Shanghai around those dates and want to grab a drink i'm game ^. Thank you! |
Please follow this thread in the FT China Forum.

I believe there are buses to the track from the hotel, though subway is probably still your best bet. It'll be quite a walk from the subway station to the track. |
I remember its was a big deal in 04 for the innauguration of F1 in China.
Seems to have dropped off. Motorsports don't have a great popularity In China. Nonetheless an enjoyable experience and plenty to see and do in Shanghai. Should be events planned in the city for F1 attendees and an ample supply of direct transportation to the track without taking subway or taxi. . |
mnredfox, thanks for the link. I posted the thread before I saw that there was a specific section for China.
sniles, thanks for the hilton tip. Maybe they will let me one of the team buses to the track? :D lol anacapamalibu, China is not the first place you think of if you want to go watch a F1 race. I might have a little work break coming up so i figured why not go see a race. The whole PVG trip will be cheaper for me than the hotel in YUL for the F1 race. |
Speaking of F1, in 2010 I ran into Lewis Hamilton in the turnstile door going into the Hilton. Of course at the time I didn't know who it was, just that there were a lot of Chinese girls oolging at him from the outside.
