Will be there for 2 nights only. Should I stay in Le Meridien (SPG Plat) or InterContinetal (Gold only)? IC obviously is closer to everything and beaches.

Is it easy to take cabs from LM to say Beer Brewery and back?

Both are good, This IC is in the marina area, & neat to walk around the boats & the 2008 Olympic area. Some nearby shops and places to eat towards the water. Ask for a water view room & cabs are there at the IC to the brewery about 25 rmb, it's about 140 rmb to airport, or 40 rmb to train station.

QD is abet cool for the beach this time of the year !.

Also at the brewery, they quit selling pitchers about 6 pm in the tourist shop.

Am at the LM right now. Upgraded to a suite, they are very large, general customer service at the hotel is top notch. Asked for the following non standard items, WiFi Router and Humidifier, both were delivered to the room in 3 to 5 mins of the request.

Lounge is huge with once again great staff. Not crowded, high quality food during cocktail hour and breakfast, try asking for a latte.......

Definitely go to the beer factory and get a tour, wait for an English guide. ^

Is it easy to grab a cab back from beer factory area, ESP if we have dinner around there?

The unfiltered fresh brew is great. The last beer factory tour ends at 430pm. Am not sure it would be a good time to start dinner. There does not seem much happening around the beer factory apart from the entire street lined with bars.

Another key point to note, most of the cab drivers changes shift at between 5 to 7pm, seems like a horrid time to be hunting for one at that time.
