How to specify non-visa transit entry stamp in PEK
Hi. I am flying to JFK-PEK-HKG starting tomorrow and have a 15 hour layover. I have a new 2 visit China tourist visa, but I am going to ask for a non-visa transit entry stamp via the SPECIAL line. I also know I have to check the box for a transit stamp on my immigration entry form.
For reference, I asked about it here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/china...-question.html Since I do not want the immigration officer to stamp my tourist visa, I would like to know if anyone is willing to help write me a message in Chinese that I can show to the PEK immigration officer that explains what I would like, in case they don't speak enough English. I'd normally ask elsewhere, but I don't trust Google Translate and I thought some of you might have actually had to do this before. I'd want it to say something like "I would like a non-visa transit entry stamp. I am staying one night in Beijing and fly early tomorrow to Hong Kong. Please do not use my tourist visa. I need both entries for use later. Thank you." Thanks so much, Matt |
Go to the SPECIAL desk at PEK, not regular immigration, and explain. Easy as.
Have itinerary and/or boarding pass in hand. You will lose one whole passport page |
Spelunkus, no need to start a new thread for this and scatter information unnecessarily.
I've also just answered on your other (main) thread, let's keep everything over there as many other readers of this forum will be interested in how to handle this identical situation, and I want to link from the FAQ visa page to just one recent relevant thread--which is going to be your main thread. :) |
jiejie, sorry for posting a new thread. I thought the old one would get lost. I was not sure how new replies to old threads would affect the post order on the forum.
Thank you for your response. I will update this thread once we get through immigration on in China! Matt |

Thank you for your response. I will update this thread once we get through immigration on in China! Matt PS. Usually when a thread has a new post put on it, it will go back to the top of the forum list (under any permanent sticky posts). So the most active stuff is on the top. You can also use the Search function--Advanced--and put your own user name in, to find any previous threads you originated or were a responder to...in case you need a refresher and don't want to scroll through a list of more recent unrelated posts. |
