I made a 2 day trip to Xian in January 09. It was chilly. Be sure to bring some warm clothes, gloves, etc.. I found it the coldest in the buildings surrounding the terracotta pits. There was no direct sunlight into them so it was substantially colder then outside. There was no line ups this time of year so it was a rather easy tour.
