Eight hours in CAN
Hi guys,
I'm planning an eight-hour layover in Guangzhou in early September so I can do some last-minute shopping at Beijing Lu and China Plaza. Yes, I have CDs to buy. :P Although it has been said many times that you can transit landside on your "airside" transit stamp, how will this work when reentering the sterile area? Will I still need to undergo immigration checks and the like, and will I be scrutinized for it? |

If you don't have a valid visa, you have a big problem in CAN. You are not allowed to exit the airport, as recent experiences here show: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/china...angzhou-5.html (Much more information found there, too) Furthermore, according to a recent SCMP article, CAN is apparently going to be the first Chinese airport to offer int'l to int'l connections without immigration procedures "in the near future". Means, definitely no transfer visas and exiting anymore. |

As your location says ZUH, I assume you have permanent residency permit or multiple F? Then, no problem.
