Sorry - I just started looking at this forum today. So if I am too late...

Don't know about your FF miles. But will just note that if you're a Continental FF with a fair number of miles - you can usually book AC flights to China - especially business class - pretty cheap in terms of miles (as compared to Continental flights). On the Continental website.

I'd probably use my Continental miles for one of those flights - except we have no no-stop flights to Canada from where I live. Robyn

My feelings about the bolded are similar to the sentiments I've expressed in this thread:

I suppose I have to concede that UA is better than CA, but it doesn't exactly exude greatness either IMO.

There is a cardinal rule to apply here: Never, never, never schedule an ORD connection in the winter. I'd do a double transfer, or saw off my left hand, or even (gasp) consider flying Air China, before I'd do a February ORD connection on any airline.

We never leave Florida in the winter. This winter - doesn't even look safe to book connections through Atlanta or Dallas :(. And even here in north Florida - we are having a very cold winter (for us). Second in a row. Lost 1/3 of the cabbage crop (my county is about half suburban - half rural - we grow a lot of cabbage and potatoes). Only consolation is we've been having a fair amount of rain lately. We were in semi drought last summer - and I think all the rain has helped. If it's too cold to play golf - it might as well rain! BTW - I moved here after 20+ years in Miami - so I am somewhat of a wimp when it comes to cold weather. We met a big group from Ireland at our golf course a week or so ago. It was about 60 and sunny - and I felt kind of chilly. But the guys from Ireland were in hog heaven :D. Robyn
