Private detective in China?
 

Is there such a thing as a private detective in China who could, for example, locate missing persons, etc.?

Pinkerton has a few offices in China.

In the book China Ghosts the author describes how he made persistent inquiries via one of the (US) Chinese Consulates as well as using China-based journalists. The author's basis of inquiry was that he wanted to know more about the birth parents of his adopted daughter.
