Me too, considering I once took a cab and it was like 690.

I usually pay around 400y to Kunshan and Suzhou is 22 miles further.
380 is low price.

It looks like Suzhougarden.com is dead. Anyone else have any suggestions? Looking to make an easy transfer and could use some help.

Take the highspeed train in 1st (or the "top level" business) class?

25-35 minutes depending on the number of stops and you can disembark at four different stations inside city limits. Even have the choice of Shanghai main station and Honqgiao at the eastern end.

Most of the stations poorly served.

Huaqiao - single daily train (G7132, 16 minutes) from Hongqiao
Kunshan South: 31 daily trains from Shanghai, 54 from Hongqiao. 2 stop at Shanghai West.
Yang chenghu - 1 daily train from Hongqiao (0:29), 2 from Shanghai (0:21 ja 0:28).
Suzhou Industrial Park - 8 daily trains from Shanghai, 0:24 to 0:39, 1 of which stops at Shanghai West (0:28), 14 from Hongqiao (0:24 to 0:37)
Suzhou: 45 daily high speed trains from Shanghai - 37 G trains (0:25 to 0:38), 8 D trains (0:42 to 0:58). 35 high speed trains from Hongqiao (0:25 to 0:47). 1 high speed train from Shanghai West (0:28)
Suzhou North: 24 daily trains, all from Hongqiao (0:23 to 0:48)
Suzhou New District: 4 daily trains, all from Shanghai (0:37 to 0:47)
Weiting West - no service.

Any updates on what a taxi may cost? Or private driver?

I need to head from the centre of Shanghai tomorrow to the Shangri-La Hotel Suzhou. Am I better off to take a car all the way- or get a train and then get off at ? ? and taxi to the hotel?

To update I ended up taking the train today as a driver would have taken a long time due to the heavy amount of rain in Shanghai this morning.

The train travel time is 25 minutes.

The drive from Hengshan Road to the train station took 35 minutes- it would have been much less had the weather not considerably slowed down traffic today.

The train cost was 60 RMB first class Shanghai-Suzhou. Personally for a 25 minute ride I would not really bother with first class however everything else was sold out due to last minute ticket purchase so it may be a matter of convenience.

Having taken a car and driver previously- this is a much faster solution and also far more relaxing considering the traffic in/around Shanghai.
