Reed Flute Cave at Guilin
I'll be 2 whole days in Guilin. One day I'll go to Yangshuo, and the Li River.
The other day I want to see Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbi Hill), Fubo Hill, and/or other places. How is the best way to get by myself to those places? Hiring a driver? (got drivers info?) Buses? Thanks |

Thanks Didn't include the entrance fees and we didn't want to pay to see a elephant shaped rock, so just hung around outside the fence and peered over the plants blocking the view to look at it. The cave is mediocre, they just shine some colored lights on the stalagmites. The best thing I think in Guilin is Yaoshan Mountain. You take a ski lift up and you can take a skeleton/bobsled type sled and slide down a long track. Quite fun on a nice day. If you can, spend more time in Yangshuo, more relaxing, cheaper, more 'genuine'. Guilin was a snore and overrun by tourists. |
I hear a bunch of the attractions in Guilin are totally not worth it. I did do the cave though (a taxi from the new Shangri-la, metered was less than 20 RMB, I believe). While nothing glorious and kinda fake (all the lights) the colors were, I thought, really pretty.
