Not really, when you consider that these 1) Look very similar to an IED on the X-ray, and 2) would be an ideal device to convert into an IED.

I'm confused by this. You say that a snowglobe looks like an IED on an x-ray. So you see a snowglobe/IED on the x-ray, take the bag for a secondary inspection, and determine that it's a snowglobe, not an IED. What's the issue here?

You also say that a snowglobe is an ideal device to convert into an IED. I don't know much about IEDs, but what makes a snowglobe ideal that doesn't make a pot of face cream or a jar of styling gel ideal for conversion into an IED? They're both containers that are short and wide with a large mouth. (Except that a snow globe doesn't have a large mouth because it can't be easily opened!)

All clear now?? ;)

Isn't Cocaine snow?:)

So by banning snowglobes, which are easily inspectable by their clear domes, we've just forced the liquid bomb makers to move to sneaking their liquid inside opaque contact lens solution bottles, which are already allowed!. If I were any sort of competent bomb maker, and couldn't figure out how to build one in a laptop, DVD player, or power brick, I'd deserve to be drummed out of the guild.
