Didn't John McCain say something, answering a question about government run healthcare that if you want to see how efficiently (don't know if that was the right word) the government runs things, that you should go to the airport?

I have little doubt in my mind that the knowledge of the TSA farce is in the minds of the candidates, but as mentioned a billion times before in this forum, ain't no pol is going to try to look soft on terror.

Frankly, I think the TSA is so low on the list of priorities among politicians, it isn't even measurable.

But talk from either candidate is especially cheap this year. Again, it is unlikely we will see any real change in TSA practices in any new administration.

Too bad his odds of getting elected are fairly low and there is more to getting TSA disbanded than just getting elected and snapping fingers.

Let's face it folks, there are much bigger fish to fry in this country than the TSA.

Health care, the economy/jobs, oil prices, etc. all tower over the miniscule inconvenience that we refer to as the TSA.

Hence why you don't hear much about it mainstream except for some folks who happen to be annoyed/inconvenienced/etc. by the TSA frequently due to frequent air travel.

Personally I'd gladly face the TSA garbage 1-2x per week and be paying $1.50 for gas again.

I'd rather pay $5 for gas and have a gov't that's not hostile to civil liberties, supports the constitution, and undoes the travesty on rights done in this country the last 8 years.

You can have a great economy and still have limited rights. Just look at China. Is that who we really want to be?

Gotta agree here. The TSA is one area that the new president will actually have direct control over, and the one area that can most affect our freedoms. The issues involved here go far beyond the geeks manning the security checkpoints. It goes to the basic question of how much freedom we are willing to surrender to the government. That is likely why none of the candidates talks about it much. Blaming the other side for high gas prices is much more fun.

Internally, DHS and TSA minions are all about citing risk. Trouble is they invariably exaggerate the risk of a given event to suit their selfish purposes.

Do you mean "majority of the voting public", rather than "majority of the traveling public"? A lot of voters do not travel (much), and do not live in areas that receive a lot of visitors (and the economic boost of their spending).
