More work for me, but what I do is wear slippahs to the shoe carnival and keep my shoes with fresh socks wrapped up in a plastic bag in my carry-on.
Of course I need to take off the ridiculously thin rubber slippers and walk through barefoot (ugh) but I carry antiseptic wipes and wipe down my feet and slippers before changing into shoes. It's more work, but I usually get to the airport earlier than I should, so it's not too big of a deal. I just want to avoid walking through the detector in socks then putting dirty socks into my shoes. Yuck! |

Oops, I wasn't aware that it changed to where ALL shoes must come off. Thanks for the clarification, ND Sol.

Ok, that makes sense. I thought you were saying that you did that in response to the shoe carnival.
