You'd be pretty surprised at what Spiff knows. But you're here to tell us how you're single-handedly better than we are, so it might not sink in anyway. And your detection of those components, as remote those chances are (as proven by The Red Team's success), does not qualify as knowing mixtures and the procedure to make those things dangerous. |

Why don't you try to do a search on Spiff's posts. Include words like "C4" and "liquids" and other words you might think be relevant.

And your detection of those components, as remote those chances are (as proven by The Red Team's success), does not qualify as knowing mixtures and the procedure to make those things dangerous. He is operating under the assumption that the TSA knows most, knows best and knows first. The sheer tonnage of what most TSA screeners DON'T know about security would require two dozen diesel-electric locomotives to move it to the far end of the runway. When I was working for a PBS station, we wanted to send them a program for use on the PBS network feed. It was rejected because the tape we submitted did not have 84 FRAMES (30 frames to a second of video) of black between the end of the program and the PBS logo. The next week they sent a network promo feed without tone and bars (absolutely critical for getting video and adio levels and color quality correct) on the front of it. I called them up and said "Hey, as soon as your network is frame accurate, my tapes will be too." What does this have to do with the TSA? Simple: This crowd missed something like 90% of the fake bombs and guns that they sent through the EWR screening positions and they are griping at us over half an ounce of hand lotion? As soon as the TSA is THAT accurate, they have a right to expect us to be as well. As soon a travelers are not yelled at like cattle, they can expect us not to treat THEM like animals. It goes both ways, kids. The TSA apparently wants all to submit to whatever rules they come up with, even if the screener is making them up, accept our grope and rubdown, remove our shoes and walk on filthy airport floors and accept a screener not knowing the difference between a liter and a quart, what three ounces looks like in metric, and suspending the first amendment at MKE...but they they want us to treat them like we're happy to see them, they are our best friends and never question them? I got news for ya: This country happened after enough people got sick of fat old King George expecting similar deference after being abused by the government. You want to be treated better? YOU FIRST. After all, THEY work for US. --PP |

I still think and know TSA is a joke. . .

Only person who gave up a 6-figure job (even LOW 6) to work for the TSA is a crackhead. :D |

Until there is 100% accountability and transparency at the TSA, I'm happy to remain somewhat anonymous. As to your "dumb" comment, I'll be happy to discuss engineering, chemistry, physics, material science, or just about any other subject with you or anyone else until the cows come home. Please, use big words and don't dumb things down in the slightest. I'm ready to play if you are. ;) I have wondered what would happen if we took one of the above mentioned suburban soccer moms who say Oh, ANYTHING for safety" and sent her through the breast and crotch groping, give her athlete's foot from the filthy floors we have to walk on barefoot or in stocking feet and had a $100 bottle of her favorite perfume confiscated by the TSA if she would STILL be saying "Oh, ANYTHING for safety!" I notice that the TSA posters are not responding to the fact that their agency is accountable to no one, their entire workings are hidden from their employers (US) and that their efficacy scores are pathetically low and screeners DO make stuff up as they go along. --PP |

In 1994 a Japanese man was killed on a Japan bound plane by liquid explosives. It was reportedly a test to see if it would work.
So I don't have the confidence some of you do that liquids are not a threat. |

So I don't have the confidence some of you do that liquids are not a threat. The problem with pre-mixed nitroglycerine is that it is so volatile that just walking around with it, or worse yet, having it near a 98.6 degree F human is enough to cause it to detonate. The terrorist got extremely lucky. Anyone can kill 1 or 2 other people on the plane without nitroglycerine or other explosives at all. It's not a threat that is worth worrying about. Such a killing can occur at the mall, on the street, or just about anywhere else in the world. We really need to get out of this safety at all costs nonsense because it's not obtainable or credible and focus on legitimate threats to aircraft, not individual people. If someone wants to kill another person and does not care about the consequences, they will succeed. |

Liquids - Are, unfortunatly a threat. Ask any MIT chemistry major, and ask him how unstable, how explosive, and how easily these threats are to mix, and use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_explosive. Get learn'd.
Possible to create liquid explosives? Yes. Likely to bring down a plane? No;why bother with something that is so unstable and unpredictable when there are much easier ways to accomplish the same goal?

I work a low-paying Gov't job, where it is in our contract that we can't unionize, work irregular hours, much of it on manditory overtime, so please add insult to injury by verbally abusing me, as I try my best to keep you safe when you travel. On Christmas. When I will indeed be working.

By the way - I left the spelling errors in your quotes without correcting them. I would take points off if you submitted this to me for grading.

If you see a terrorist in every pax who approaches your checkpoint, you need to give some serious thoughts to another line of work.

Your agency head, Kip Hawley, was a railroad vice president who has absolutely no background in security or terrorism. He is now promulgating rules for the entire transportation industry, with a special emphasis on the airline industry. What has been fostered on the travelling public is an absolute travesty of justice cloaked in the guise of "making the skies safer." And you wonder why people treat you badly? |

That just underscores the observation that many in the TSA are wannabe LEOs, ex-military and ex-security guards types who gravitate toward any chance to feel a little authority. |

I smell a guy who failed his Entrance or Medical Exam to the Police Academy?
That's OK, but why would someone leave a six figure job to work for the TSA? See first sentence |
Hmmm I wonder if we can get one of those put up on cafepress.com I'd buy one in a hearbeat... then we'd have to add the sound chip with Cartman's voice and that... would be priceless!
