Because in the USA, we expect disclosure from, and accountability from, our civil servants - who are employees of the people. Burying information under a blanket of secrecy when there is no quantifiable evidence that the information really needs to be secret, is a violation of the public trust.

Go to DFW, they'll record your info for anything.... laptop being inside the case, looking Mexican, boots too dirty, breathing oxygen, etc.
