The private security companies are required to adhere to the same basic processes and SOPs, although there may be differences in the policies impacting their workers, and each airport may have a different process/equipment that changes certain aspects of the screening. If the BP machine was unable to read the printed BP, then the process is to have a digital bp on the phone or have the individual return to the counter to get another bp printed by the airline. So, this may have been normal process, depending upon whether the home printed BP was able to be read, or if the CAT machine returned a result that required the individual be sent back to the counter.
