Interactions with TSA Agent

Went through T1 security at SFO to board my flight on DL this past week.

I placed (1) jacket and (1) hand bag on the belt for screening. Having gone through the metal detector without any beeps, the agent asked if I work at the airport - I told her I was there to catch a flight. She seemed befuddled, and semi-directed me to turn around, and use the body scanner, except that machine (next to the traditional metal detector) was closed for the night.

The traffic was extremely light at the time. The person in front of me had some exceptions which need to be taken care of after ID check, and I went in front of him through the security check.

I am befuddled as well.

What is it that you are asking about?

I didn't ask any question in my post. I posted my experience with a TSA agent thinking I was an airport employee.

Aren't SFO security contractors and not TSA?

Yes, but since they are dressed in similar faux cop uniforms, most people believe they are TSA.
