They still don't know how to perform their jobs.

Moderator's note: Topic drift
Folks,
The topic of this thread is: TSA Pilot Program: All Food and Electronics Larger than Cellphones out for Screening, not the TSA training academy.
Please get back on topic.
If you wish to discuss the training academy, we have a thread on that subject: All new TSA employees being sent to GA for training
We also have several threads discussing enhanced physical screening, etc.
Future off-topic posts will be deleted without further waning. Repeat offenders will be subject to discipline. Please consider this to be your one and only warning.

Flying from YYZ to LAS last week, I put my ipad in a separate bin. After clearing security and US pre-clearance, I went to the lounge, sat down with a coffee and decided to look something up on my ipad. It was at that point that I realized my ipad was still sitting all alone in its separate bin. Luckily, there was someone at an information desk just outside the security exit, so she called security, walked me out of the secure area, and told me what to do. I had to go back though security, pick up my ipad and then re-clear US border control. Apparently, this had been happening alot, so the security staff advised me to put my shoes in the same bin as the ipad, since I'm not likely to leave without my shoes. I'm just glad I discovered it while still at the airport.

They should not be taken away but as Boggie Dog says it depends on whichever screener you encounter. Please make certain that you require a change of gloves before touching your food, however.

It is really sad that TSA can't figure out what real explosives are. I can almost guarantee that water and protein powers aren't! But who knows, with the right childhood chemistry set and a bit of creativity what a 6 year old might be able to produce.

That's the kind of imaginative thinking that led TSA to confiscate my medical nitroglycerine pills - because with a lab and the right circumstances, who knew what I could concoct with my pills after I cleared security.

I haven't had problems in the past, but consistency is not their strong suit.

Heaven help us! TSA can't be this ignorant, can they?

It was a book. Something that is unidentifiable to screeners.
