Going to the US with UK Convictions

Hey all,

I really want to visit the US sometime in 2015, however I have 2 spent convictions for D/D and a Caution for ABH (which expires May 2015) will I still be able to visit?

whats the policy on the ESTA with these UK convictions? or will I have to apply for a full tourist visa?

any info will be greatly appreciated and yes ive been a naughty boy in the past every1 makes mistakes! onwards n upwards now tho eh ;)

You're _probably_ not going to qualify for ESTA (assuming D/D is either drunk driving or drunk & disorderly), and will need to get a full tourist visa, at least based on the US Embassy's Visa Wizard (http://london.usembassy.gov/root/visa-wizard/pages/). You could go ahead and apply for the ESTA, and see what happens. That said, make sure you're honest when you apply - the convictions you mention wouldn't necessarily make a visa a no-go, but getting caught lying on an application certainly would be.

Thanks for the heads up buddy! will probs just apply for the full visa just to be on the safe side and D/D = Drunk Driving
