TPA-TSA Pilot Program?
Flew out of TPA yesterday and didn't have to remove shoes or take anything out of bags (laptops etc.) Just had to remove anything from pockets that might set off metal detector. Has this been going on for a while or did I miss a memo somewhere? TSA agent said it was pilot program.

The Pilot Program is called: Pacify the irate public so nobody notices the continued violation of their Civil Rights.
Been going on at many airport (small to medium sized being the most common). There are a few threads about it. |
Thanks! I've only flown a couple time over the past few months and hadn't encountered it. Funny thing is, there really wasn't ANY traffic going through security. I think it actually took us longer. I had one shoe off when she told us not to take off shoes and my Scansmart bag open when she told me to close it. The TSA agent was very stern with my wife...a little snippy, even. They train us like rats and then admonish us for following the rules.

Do you know whether this was a one day trial? Is this part of the new "managed inclusion"?

Which airside did you fly out of? they have been reconfiguring the security areas in a few airsides. maybe it is something in advance of starting the true TSA pre security. As I have been reading in other threads, they just send everyone there anyways. Maybe that is all it is?
