Question taking a dipped rose...
I was wondering if I take on of those "dipped roses." Will it be a problem going through customs in Peru from the USA?
Example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027ZGDVQ |
Not much specifically listed
I can't find anything that indicates a specific allowance or denial of the dipped roses. However, the general information page on plants and plant clippings is found here:
https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/600 It also has a contact number at the bottom for permits and questions about things that are/are not allowed. I hope that the number can yield you some better information than the page, because even going through the aphis link did not give any info on roses or specific clippings from Peru. Good luck, that is a lovely looking item! Oh yeah, the number listed is - (877) 770-5990 (toll free), (301) 851-2046 direct line. |

The OP is not entering the United States. He's buying the rose in the US and carrying it to Peru.
I can find no specific listing for an item of this description, but there are requirements for "phytosanitary certificates" on some plants, but that appears to be for import, and this is a modified item, not a fresh cut/clipping that can be used to plant. So this was a really long winded way of saying I don't see anything that should jam you up, but I can find nothing that says they won't jam you up either. So I guess I could just sum it up with an "I don't know". |
