U.S. CBP during shutdown?

So today through the GOES website I applied for my Global Entry. Are they processing those applications during the shutdown? I wasn't thinking about the shutdown and paid them so I think I may have just wasted $100 to the federal government until they come back

The GE enrollment offices are still open and even doing interviews in the evening today, a federal holiday sort of in more than one way.

That's good to know, thank you!

Well got my interview appointment today so I guess some government employees are working.

The CBP Officers who do the interviews are law enforcement officers and deemed "essential" as are their support. Nobody has gotten sufficiently in the weeds to make distinctions about which law enforcement functions could credibly be shut down.

Same as usual. Show conditional approval letter, passport, proof of residence and whatever else is indicated in the letter; answer a few questions; get a photo taken; get four fingerprints+four fingerprints+two thumbprints; beprovided some additional info; and then part ways. Something like that.

Also, functions which are directly paid for by fees (like Global Entry processing) aren't shut down.
