My rough translation: Tonight FBI Agents arrested a man accused of phoning in a bomb threat on to a Jetblue Plane at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Isla Verde, Carolina. According to FBI Spokesperson Moisés Quiñones, a middle aged man was detained in the San Juan metropolitan area. He remains under custody and will appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday). The bomb threat, received at 4:35pm via the 9-1-1 system, provoked a terminal evacuation, and the airplane was moved. After following protocol, the police determined it was a false threat. A flight to Fort Lauderdale which was scheduled to depart at 6:25pm was canceled. Emergency responders, including the PR Police, PRPA Security, PR Fire Department, PRPD Explosives Division, and the TSA collaborated in the investigation. |
I didn't get it. What happened? How could this happen? I wasn't sure if he is not a terrorist. He could be threat.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — U.S. federal agents have arrested a man on charges he phoned in a false bomb threat that forced Puerto Rico's main international airport to cancel one flight and delay several others. Gabriel Osorio Cotto is accused of stating that a JetBlue flight at the Luis Munoz Marin airport would explode Tuesday afternoon. U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez said Wednesday that the call was made from a public phone booth. She says a nearby business had camera surveillance that helped authorities identify Osorio. If convicted, Osorio faces up to five years in prison. |
