Red popup on gate attendant screen when boarding

I've noticed that whenever I board with my eboarding pass that when the gate attendant scans my ticket, a red popup appears on her screen. They usually have to key something in and then rescan my ticket.

I just so happened to look at the screen this week and i noticed it said "TSA*** " along with some text in that red box.

Anyone know what that is? or encountered it before?

I do plan on asking next time it happens, but curiosity is getting the better of me!

What airline or airlines? Are you traveling in any sort of special seat (exit row) or in an unusual circumstance (lap child on the same itinerary, wheelchair request)?

For example when I have an exit-row seat on UA, the scanner beeps like crazy as if I had an invalid boarding pass. But apparently the only purpose of the extra noise is for the gate agent to ask if I am eligible to sit in the exit row.

It's Air Canada, and no nothing is special about it, just normal seats.

It might be from when I book through my works travel agent? I guess i'll find out next time it happens!

On US a yellow screen comes up if you have an exit row... it's just to remind the GA to verify that the pax meets the FAA regulations for sitting there (18 or older, not traveling with a child or somebody needing assistance, no obvious physical impairments, etc...)

The red (or "reject") screen means your seating assignment changed from what's on your BP... frequently happens when an elite is downgraded from F to accommodate a FAM or paying F pax.
