TSA still doing 'chat-ups'?
Sorry, but I was wondering of they still ask those stupid questions at the TSO station ? I do not fly that much anymore and was wondering if I should be prepared for such non-sense. :D
|
They were not at DTW the last two weeks, like they had been the end of last year. Didn't have to say a word to anyone in a blue shirt. BNA was also chat-down free. Can't comment otherwise as I have been avoiding air travel as much as possible while this stupidity continues.

I have only observed this practice at smaller, arguably more friendly stations, such as MHT, DAY and CMH during the last couple of years. Recently, none at all.

"Habla con la mano."
|
I hope they start it back up. I am working on my ASL again. That should be fun.

Definitely in full force in BOS.

Still with the "what is your full name".....because someone flying on fake credentials would not have looked to see what name they are using.

What terminal were you in ? I was in B earlier this week and while there were announcements from the airport fsd on the airport PA saying that your cooperation with it was "appreciated" they didn't ask a single thing at the checkpoint.

That said, I get asked "questions" a lot at other airports and I just ignore them. |
I've run into it several times this year, mostly at IAD. Most of the TSOs doing so seem a bit better about it than they used to be, actually trying to strike up "real" conversations rather than just asking things like, "Where are you going today?"
I can't imagine the TSA has caught a single bad-guy yet via this technique. |

I think the original pilot program was in terminal A only. I've seen (but not experienced) that chat up in A. Never seen it in C. Haven't flown out of B in a few years.
