T.S.A. Skips a Hearing on Terminating the T.S.A.

Are they going to be terminating the TSA? Because they went out of control. TSA will be gone as a replacement the private security screening. They will be gone forever.

How much longer will be last?

As has been said elsewhere, TSA isn't going anywhere until Congress and/or POTUS is willing to surrender some support from the "anything for safety" crowd, put their big-boy pants on, and do the right thing. For Congress, that's nigh-impossible in the current political climate; POTUS never has to stand for election again, but his actions/choices reflect on the Democratic party at large.

Put bluntly, I hope you like the feel of blue gloves on your skin, because much as we may dislike the notion, TSA's going to be around for a long time.

As long as the rest of society shares your defeatist attitude, then you're correct.

The rest of society doesn't have a defeatist attitude, they hold the TSA in the highest regard. They're keeping aviation safe, don't you know?

I prefer to think of it as 'practical pessimism". But YMMV.

The problem is not the TSA, the problem is the ineffectual and invasive security theatre.

It's no good replacing the TSA with private security if the private security also uses nudeoscopes, sexually assault & ritually humiliate passengers

Story reminds me of Khalid Sheik Mohammed not showing up to his own trial.

It would be nice if we could get a default judgment terminating TSA due to a no-show.
