TSAPre and Multiple Airlines
I was invited by one airline to participate in TSAPre. Works great. I have taken my ID number and added it to my profile for another airline, but unfortunately, I never seem to be eligible for the TSAPre screening with the second airline. Does the airline itself have to invite you as well, or if your invited by one airline should you be able to use it across all of the airlines. In my case, I am a high status flyer and on the other, I am a general member.
Thanks. |
What ID number are you trying to use? GE/NEXUS or something else?

I have been able to use PreCheck on two occasions when flying as a non-elite. I assume it is because I put my Trusted Traveler PassID into all my frequent flyer accounts for any all the airlines, and that has made me PreCheck eligible.
I think this is also what you want to accomplish. Some potential problems: 1) Make sure the name in your Secure Flight section of your profile exactly matches your PassID name (this is the name on your GE/NUXUS/SENTRI card). Note that for some online accounts, the Secure Flight info section is not the same as your account name and may need to be entered in a different section. 2) Pointed out by Ari to be incorrect/misinformed/untrue. 3) Make sure that there are no international legs on the itinerary 4) Make sure the airline participates in PreCheck, at that airport, at that terminal, at that security checkpoint. That is all I can think of. #1 screws up a lot of people. |

Make sure you purchase your tickets at least 48 hours in advance, as Secure Flight information is not pulled at the time of travel, but done in advance.
When you book or enter TT information has no technical bearing on getting expedited screening. |

This simply isn't true; SecureFlight info is transmited to TSA at 72 hours before flight or when the flight is booked, if within 72 hours of flight. The SecureFlight data is retransmited anytime a change is made to it within 72 hours of the flight.

The critical thing for GE/NEXUS is that the PASSID be in the SFPD part of the record. It should get copied from a frequent traveler profile, but I suspect most people's failures are when I didn't. I did a three-segment travel recently: on DL from LGA to FLL, then on AA from MIA to TPA, then DL from TPA to LGA. On the first, I entered the C terminal, which doesn't have Pre-Check. On the latter two, I got it. I'm currently on a two-leg trip with LGA->FLL on DL and FLL->JFK on AA. I entered at D this time and got it on the first leg, but won't on the second (no Pre-Check at FLL/AA).
