Getting "pants'd" at security

Apparently pulling down people's pants in public is part of the screening process now:

Stay classy, TSA.

It's hard to tell from that picture what's going on. It almost looks like the TSO is trying to hold them up after they've fallen down.

They would first have to obtain "class" somewhere.

Given the nature of the TSA and its employees, they'd probably try stealing it from someone who had it, much as they try to steal dignity from people who have it.

The problem is that they utterly fail to understand that one can't steal such things from people. Neither can they be given.

(And just in case anyone was wondering, yes, I'm making it clear that I do not consider anyone working for the TSA to have either class or dignity.)

That's the second of two photos I took; the first had them somewhat higher. But I cannot imaging that the passenger just decided to undo his belt and zipper while standing in the middle of the TSA screening area. The TSA did that and precipitated the mess. I put the blame fully on them in this one.

Well, silly, this is what happens when you don't remove your belt...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The last two times I had to opt-out, the TSOs doing the grope were very good about making it clear after a certain point in the process that I could drop my arms and hold my waistband to keep my pants from falling. Don't know if that's SOP or if I just got a Bad Apple (TM).

Meanwhile, you can tell it's a US checkpoint, not a European one. One guy working and 4 others in the background who don't appear occupied in any useful way.

Sorry - which one's occupied in a useful way?

Mee, too. It's pretty obvious they are absolutely paranoid about being seen conducting "strip searches."

Good on you for taking the photos.

At least they didn't subsequently arrest the man for indecent exposure.

Seems there might be a start of a mass pantsing.

I want an explanation for this.

how about a good lie? because that's all you'll get from the TSA.

"Pax attempts to interfere with screening process by not wearing checkpoint-approved clothing. Highly trained, professional staff have the situation well in hand."

TheGolfWidow Feb 15, 2012 10:46 am

Sorry, had a momentary lapse in which I forgot it was the passenger's fault.
