The "trusted" traveler line led to X-Ray?? or did you mean to say "metal detector"?
If it led to a body scanner then there is absolutely NO reason to be involved in this sham. I was invited and I declined. I was invited again and declined again. Unless something changes, I will continue to decline. |

I had my first pre-check experience at MIA this morning. After a 10-person wait, the TDC scanned my BP and asked me if I was traveling alone. I said "yes," and he directed me to the velvet rope where an empty belt and WTMD was waiting. The TSA agent told me as I approached the belt to leave my laptop and liquids in, and shoes on, and that if the WTMD didn't alarm, I'd be all set. When I exited the other side (successfully) a two-striper asked me if it was my first time. When I said it was, he stated the random ratio was "about 80/20," so to not be surprised if I am directed to a normal lane in the future, and that one has to have a BP that was either generated on-line or from a kiosk. That is, if it was obtained at the counter from a live agent, it would not be approved for pre-check. Nor, he said, is any international itinerary.

I was told the issue with BPs issued at the MIA ticket counters was resolved. In fact, I'm 8 for 8 for being randomly selected at MIA with 6 of the last BPs being issued by the ticket counter.
