Ho, hum.

.

Hmm, you mean running away from danger as quickly as possible? :D

They even show video of the clerks hustling out of the checkpoint :p

What a pointless use of tax payer money. Bob should be fired, and the blog should be shut down.

They are quick on their feet and ready to respond in the face of chaos when needed.
Quick on their feet to loot your baggage or get their lunches :p As far as responding in the face of chaos, I think their only response will be a Code Brown :D

Those look like multi-metallic coins. Anyone who's ever left the country knows how much the TSA loves it when you have multi-metallic coins in your carry-on. If I were in charge of an agency which is loathed and feared, though, I'd probably give my employees some token for acting smart enough under the circumstances to get out of harm's way, with or without others. Their morale has to be pretty tanked.

Also, the more important issue: I don't think I'm really comfortable with any of those people touching me, much less conducting extended investigations of my crotch...while I'm pregnant...which is apparently SOP now...whatever SOP counts for anymore...sigh.

Are we sure they are not just showing off this shift's take palmed from the carry ons?

This a high quality Transportation Security Administration Officer TSO Challenge Coin.

Upon the formation of the Department of Homeland Security airport screeners became federal employees and the Transportation Security Administration was formed. Federal screeners are now known as Transportation Security Officers. This very important position is constantly changing and developing. This back side of this coin depicts the new badge being issued to Officers. The front side of the coin identifies the TSA as part of the Department of Homeland Security.

Show everyone that you are dedicated to keeping the skies safe!!

The blog is still updating, so technically it hasn't been killed.

But I think we killed the morale of the team.

That's the official "I grabbed a strangers testicles" coin.

And of course, when you display your coin, you must use the same technique to display it, as you did to earn it!

Way to go Crotch Grab Team!

I predict that a puppy post about screening on trains will be put up soon.

“What’s that, Lassie? Timmy’s Nappy's trapped in the mine on the other side of the Deep Gulch railroad bridge after Ebil Terrorists tampered with the rails?”

Sadly, knowing DHS/TSA, in six months train passengers will look back and say "We wish security was back down to the level of that Savannah station incident." :(

At this moment the TSA Voodoo Science Team is creating the memo that proves 3.5 ounces of toothpaste and Grandpa's pocket knife will derail a freight train.

I'm confused. Some of these folks have the hands in butt caress position, and others in the crotch (resistance) feel position. Perhaps the weight of the coin is intended to teach the proper amount of pressure to apply to both of those body locations on a passenger.

BB responds to the latest post about keeping fear alive.

http://blog.tsa.gov/2011/05/osama-bi...74112228879749

I covered gate screening back in 2009 and most people have the same thoughts as you. However, the gate screening is simply an additional layer of security that allows us to screen anybody (including airport employees).
Blah, blah, layer of, blah, security, blah.

He also addressed "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" --

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day has been going on for 19 years now and according to the foundation’s web page, it is designed to allow parents, guardians, and mentors to share their work lives with our nation's daughters and sons.

While what you read about or witnessed may seem odd, the children were not making any security decisions.
To which I replied, and let's see if the comment is approved, "Then it seems as though the kids *were* acting in the same manner as their parents", regarding the last sentence.
