Dear DEN TSA Supervisor

If you are going to have a priority line, please staff it with someone who can check people faster than a turtle in December. The regular lanes where 3 for every 1.

Not to mention that somehow a person on my flight got through security with someone elses boarding pass (same last name, but unrelated). Found out when 2 people had the same seat.

My letter would have read more like one of the pieces of fan mail that Lt. Hauk received in Good Morning, Vietnam.

Based solely on my observations at the number of airports I've used, I am of the opinion that this is done deliberately to make the priority lanes move slower.

What would be the motivation for that? I think you're giving them too much credit :)

Good for you ^ - keep at it.

I certainly wouldn't put it past screeners to do this to "elites". As many of them wouldn't be able to enjoy most of the perks that the elites get to begin with, it is quite possible that they do what they can to harass and annoy out of a sense of jealousy.

I see TSA doing this to increase the number of paxs who are driven through the scanners, then then can say "we had X,000 paxs who went through the scanners with 'no objection' as opposed to only y who requested the WTMD. :td:

Again, I think you are giving them too much credit. It's certainly possible but we're dealing with government employees here that show up at time X, go home at time Y, and that's it.

I don't think your logic here stacks up - in the majority of airports there is no restriction once you have passed the TDC - you can continue on to any of the open WTMD (or WBI) lanes. Checking the documents certain passengers slowly wouldn't factor into this. Yes, there are some airports where you don't have a choice of lanes - I'm aware of that.

Yep. I've seen the Amex Priority Lane in Pearson targetted for full patdowns/secondary searches for everyone in the line.

This is the same group of Rhodes Scholars who said they had never seen a brown (official) passport before and had an internal debate in front of all of us trying to decide if they were going to let me through.

That and their great disdain for folks that get "special privileges" (e.g. a shorter elite line). The pax in the regular line aren't the only ones to make snide comments about those who are allowed to use the elite lines....

Fact: when Clear was operating at IAD the TSA "trainees" were assigned to the Clear/Diamond line. A Supe indicated that it was done because they would be slower to process people than the fully-rated ones that were assigned to the regular lines.

And people wonder why I want to see EVERY employee of TSA on a chain gang.

For life.

BWI C has the hand ETD scanner on the Elite Line. I have observed that C/P over the past few times through BWI and, on each occasion, for every non-elite passenger subjected to the hand inspection, three elites are tested.

In Denver, the machine is almost to the very left. If you go through the elite line, you just walk straight forward to the line with the machine.

However, and getting back to the original topic, screeners, usually a two-striper, are almost always there directing the elite folks to the right....away from the machine. The lane designations always get tossed to the side to keep lines moving (a big problem in Denver).

+1

Luckily with DEN, we have the option to move farther to the right, to avoid any experience with the nude-o-scope. In addition, we have Concourse A security, which does not, and hopefully wont get a nude-o-scope!

I'm sure they will.

News came out recently that Denver will be getting five more machines in the near future. I'm sure it will be one more at the south checkpoint, two at the north and two in Concourse A.
