The Ritz-Carlton Rewards VISA Infinite card was closed for applications in July 2018. The only way to obtain the Ritz card now is to Product Change from a Chase Bonvoy Bountiful or Boundless card, which must be open for a full year to be eligible for Product Change. Upgrades from free Chase Bonvoy Bold will not succeed UNLESS (a) the Bold card was obtained as a downgrade from another Chase Bonvoy card, (b) Or if you convert Bold to Boundless or Bountiful before switching once more to Ritz-Carlton within a few days of the product change (reports here)

However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.
AS upgrades from coach to premium coach or first work.

The terms do specify when the claim must be submitted. This doesn't tell us what they do in practice.
https://creditcards.chase.com/marrio...r/ritz-carlton
$300 Annual Travel Credit: To request a statement credit to apply towards qualifying airline incidental purchase(s) made with your Ritz-Carlton Credit Card, you must contact J.P. Morgan Priority Services at the number on the back of your Ritz-Carlton Credit Card within 4 billing cycles of the purchase date. Only the following types of non-ticket purchases qualify for this offer: airline lounge day pass, or towards a yearly lounge membership of your choice; airline seat upgrades; airline baggage fees; in-flight Internet/entertainment; in-flight meals. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a Ritz-Carlton credit card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count and won’t earn points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being of a certain type. However, we do reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for statement credits. Statement credit will post to your account within 5-7 business days and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement within 1-2 billing cycles. Qualifying purchases made by authorized users on your account are eligible for statement credits; however, only the obligor on the account, not authorized users, may request statement credits. Maximum statement credit accumulation for this offer is $300 per calendar year. Annual credit will be issued for the calendar year in which the transaction posts to your account. For example, if you pay baggage fees at the end of 2018, and the airline does not post the transaction until 2019, the cost of the baggage fees will be allocated towards your 2019 calendar year maximum of $300. Marriott Bonvoy is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or a failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

Just called to PC. Agent initially said that she could only do Marriott card to Marriott card PC and I would need to do a new application for the RC card. After politely correcting her, she was able to process the PC successfully. However, no mention of the annual 50K cert as a benefit, so I'm just going to trust all the articles and you guys here that this remains a benefit! 5 business days for delivery.

I'm not entirely surprised that there doesn't seem to be as much current literature on this card, considering it hasn't been available to new applicants in almost 4 years. When I call the number on the back of my card, I am normally routed directly to a rep, without going through the automated system.
I am planning to downgrade my CSR in April, because the Ritz has all the same backend benefits, including 6-hour trip delay.
One thing you might want to do is call them and get a Priority Pass membership through your Ritz card. It allows for unlimited guests and also allows you to give memberships to any authorized users---added at no charge.

I got my last 50,000 certificate in September, 2021 and redeemed it last week for an upcoming stay in July, 2022.

Like you, I also plan to PC my CSR in April after I use my $300 travel credit. PCing to a CSP to retain transferability. Will purchase an annual travel insurance plan w/ Allianz that covers COVID induced costs so that removes the trip coverage considerations. I'll request my Priority Pass closer to that date. No AU additions in mind at the moment that I would want to activate it now, nor guests to travel with.

This is so silly. My daughter comes to visit for the holidays, and brings her cat. There is an airline $125 pet transfer fee each way. On the way here (in 2021) I have her use the RC card and submit a reimbursement request- no issues or problems. She recently went back home, we again used the RC card (this time in 2022) and send the reimbursement request via the secure message function (just like in December). This time, request for payment is denied. What??? Any advice at this point?

I had this card from 2015 to 2017. I presume I could apply to have it reinstated?

Welcome to Flyertalk. This is not covered under the terms and conditions of the card. While some may have attempted to lie to Chase to get it covered, the results of any such bank fraud would not be condoned by Flyertalk.
