Please record data points in a structured form in this wiki (in addition to posting to the thread):

Date of the offer [mm/dd/yyyy], the offer, how long you had the card and yearly spend)

__________________________________________________ _____________
Tips:

When you call, you MUST ask if there are any offers on your account. Don't ask for an AF waiver, ask if they can credit your account the $95 (or whatever your AF is) to your account. They cannot remove the AF, but they can credit an amount to offset it. If you cancel your card within 30 days of receiving retention bonus, then Chase may claw back that bonus Note that Chase has shortened the period in which you can close the card and get the fee refunded. It is 30 days for most (or all?) cards.

If you don't get a retention bonus, the card you are holding may have the option of a downgrade. Cards that are downgraded may be upgraded at a later date. For example a no-fee Sapphire product exists for downgrade which is not available to new applicants. Consolidated discussion of that topic is here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...16-onward.html

If you have Ultimate Rewards points in the account you're calling about, try transferring them to another account before calling. For example, if you will ask for a retention on your Sapphire card, transfer the points to your Freedom card in advance.

The archived 2020 edition is here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chas...-archived.html

Southwest Premier Business, no retention offer.

I've had the card for two years now, I got a AF waiver after Year 1, just called in again now and no AF waiver so I cancelled it. I hadn't put any spend on the credit card in 2020 so can't say I'm too surprised.

Same for my P2 today.

Called Chase to ask about retention offers for my CSR and they said there were none. My spend last year was $12k. I hung up and will try again another time. My AF just hit today.

edit: My bad. I just realized my AF renewal was at $450 and not $550, so it's actually not the worst. I was considering downgrading to the Preferred and for $55 more I think it's worth keeping the CSR another year.

Called about my CSP today, was told immediately there are no offers on my account and I can use Ultimate Rewards to pay for my annual fee if I want to. Rep also asked if I wanted to add an authorized user to my account. Sigh.

Called in to check for offers on my chase ink preferred, nothing available only offered product change to no fee card.

It's mostly a travel card so only spend ~700 last year vs $20K the year before, kept open for now

CSR. 1st annual fee of $450 posted today.

Called in. 1st line rep said no offers on the card so I asked to be transferred to the retention/cancellation dept.

No $150 statement credit or offers at all for me. I have 7 total cards through Chase.

Ugh....

Do we have any data that says they might offer something after the statement posts on Feb 9 or should I just cancel the card now?

I too am on the fence. I was expecting $550 fee, and seeing the $450 makes me reconsider calling/cancelling. I wonder, how many of those who got retention offers were also being hit with a $550 fee?

Priority Pass Select was a big reason I kept it, as I used it in Asia around 5-6 times/year pre-COVID. I rarely get lounge access otherwise.

Also, my spend in 2020 of $5,500 at 3X for travel (transport, restaurants and non-Marriott hotels) also is something to consider.
