Chase gym/fitness category
My gym membership is part of a hospital system, but it even says fitness center on the cc statement. Chase says it codes as hospital, not gym/fitness. Is there anything I can do or am I wasting my time?

Welcome to Flyertalk.
All card issuers have this problem with category bonuses.
The merchant's acquirer (the company which processes their card transactions) chooses the MCC (merchant category code). In this example, it sounds as if the fitness center is using the hospital's merchant account and MCC. The card issuer cannot change it.

Not worth the battle in my book. End result will probably be "the code is the code".

I found the same thing. My annual yoga studio membership got 2x Hyatt points for being a fitness expense. But the charge from a hospital-affiliated fitness center with classes, a gym, massage, etc. didn't, even though both coded as the general "Health & Wellness" category. I didn't feel like calling Chase to discuss over 300 points.
