Walgreens drugstores were a Freedom bonus category in 2018. Reviewing THIS thread should answer many questions about the 2019 generic Drugstores category.

Chase Freedom 2019 Q1 categories: Gas Stations, Drugstores, Tolls

There is no formal link to activate or view the merchants/exceptions yet, but a press release was put out stating the new categories for Q1 2019

Looks like this quarter will be a boon to anyone who drives, especially in toll-heavy states/areas

FasTrak reloads should count as tolls, right? They show up as "transportation" on the CSR and earn 3x, anyway.

Assuming the offers are still in place, yes. I'm stacking it now, thanks to the passthrough of Samsung Pay to Chase Pay.

I expect the drug store offers will disappear from Chase Offers come Jan 1.

Perhaps, but the generic Freedom drugstore category bonus is paid by Chase while a Walgreen's bonus should be paid by the merchant.

Four consecutive quarters now for buying gift cards... I was hoping we get the cable services category again.

Well, at least I know what categories to avoid on my BofA Cash Rewards card.

I am also glad that it didn't copy Discover. Good stuff.

Question, if you use Chase pay at a gas station does that count as a Chase pay charge or Gas Station charge?

Currently i'm using Chase Pay at gas stations to get the 5% back in Q4....can i just keep doing that in Q1 and get 5% back?

My Chase Pay purchases at Shell are categorized as gas, so I presume you'd get the 5x next quarter too.

It depends a lot on the gas station. It would have to be a gas station that codes service the same as actual gas purchases. Many don't, but maybe some do? But how you would figure out which one (if any) near you does, ahead of time, I don't know.

I got lucky this week when taking my car in for a 30K service, and Chase didnt separate the shop from the gas. Unlike the Costco store and Kaiser, where the pharmacy was given the 5x and the rest not. This is working out quite nicely!
