This is the NEW Chase IHG Rewards Club Premier card. It replaced the old IHG Rewards Club Select card in 2018. Existing card members were not automatically product changed to the new card. Among the many changes, the AF jumped from $49 to $89 per year.

IHG forum thread about the new cards (and grandfathered old card for those have it already):

For discussion prior to April 2018, see this archived thread.

Q. Where can I learn more about the annual free-night certificate associated with this card? How long are the certificates good for? Are the certificates revoked if you cancel your Chase card?

A. See Annual Free Night Cert from IHG (Rewards Club) Visa / Mastercard.

Q. Once I meet the spending requirement, how soon will I receive my bonus points?

A. Bonus points typically accrue at the close of the billing period in which you incur the corresponding charges. Points should appear in your IHG account within a few days thereafter.

NOTE: If you complete your required spending in the last 7-10 days of the statement period, the bonus may not post until the following month's statement, even if the regular per-dollar points post on the first statement. This is normal behavior for Chase and is not worth a phone call.

Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

A. For answers to these and other questions, see the wiki and related discussion in the master discussion thread https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase-ultimate-rewards/2016194-applying-chase-business-cards-april-2020-onward.html

Q. Will the signup bonus count toward Spire Elite status?

A. No.

Thanks for all the info. I'm heading under 5/24 to renew SW Cp next year, if this is an ongoing offer I may as well wait a while as last I heard IHG was not subject to 5/24

I seem to remember some bloggers saying that Chase had extended 5/24 to more cards, including more co-branded cards. Look at the second list under the section "Which Credit Cards Are Impacted by Chase 5/24?"

Similar plan here-- aiming for Southwest bonuses early next year for CP. Meanwhile I can squeeze in one other new account this year to remain under 5/24. I would not count on the generous IHG bonus of 120k + $50 sticking around a long time. Plus, there are indications 5/24 applies to it now (see above). I'm thinking I'll make the IHG card my one other new card between now and Southwest time.

In my case it doesn't matter, I'll be 4 /24 in October and ( If I didn't get any cards) 0/24 in December so I can't apply and get approved now anyway.

Question

My wife is considering to apply for the IHG Premier card. She has the old IHG card (renews at $49/year) that she wants to keep.
Any risk that Chase will close her old IHG card? if she applies for the new Premier card?

There's always a chance, but it is next to none. Many of us have both, I wouldn't worry about it. I could see this happening if you called in and had a miscommunication with a CSR. Just do the online application and she should be fine.

I just picked up one of these. Just finished the 150K Hhonors Amex bonus, so now I'll switch over to this for the next 6 months.

I'm still keeping my old IHG card for the $49 free night each year.

Don't forget the 10% rebate on points used for a stay. That's a perk of the old card but not the new card. Tony300S listed the benefits of having both cards in another thread.

Card now offering 125k sign-up plus 25 points per $1 at IHG hotels and 4 points per $1 elsewhere for the first year. If you plan on signing up, don't forget to go to IHG.com and start a booking and then the card will pop up with a $50 statement credit added to the already good offer.

Link to deal offer but I would not apply through the link but via the booking option mentioned above to get the additional $50.

Well, it figures that my DW applied recently for a less rewarding offer. Since that one (for 80K IIRC) had a lower spend target--$2K--my recollection is that Chase won't match if past practice is any guide.

Wow. I guess I signed up at the wrong time.

When the year of 4 pp$ is over, they need to make it at least 2 and probably 3 pp$. Because 1 pp$ is not worth it!

Exactly. This is why I never put a single dollar of spend on the card. 3, maybe. 2, pretty difficult to argue.
