  • 100,000 Chase UR points after $15K spend in 3 months, with $95 annual fee (not waived the first year)

Additionally: For those who may be automatically excluded due to 5/24, the in-branch Business Rep can submit the application by Mail on your behalf (this avoids the application going through the computer check that would automatically exclude those who are already at 5/24.) First year's annual fee is not waived.

: Some members may have a referral link and would be very grateful if you would use it. See this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...ost-first.html

1) Should I apply using the link above or go to a nearby brick and mortar branch?
Sometimes there are better offers to be had in the branch (as referenced above). Some in-branch apps had/have the $95 AF waived 1st yr (ymmv). You can also have your banker check to see if you are pre-approved for this card (green screen on the banker's log in). However, it is likely simpler/easier to do a Chase business credit application Online as applying in-branch often requires providing documentation (proof of business, etc).

2) How do the rewards differ from other INK cards?
The bonus categories on this card are different than other cards in the INK family, notably, this card does NOT get a bonus at Office Supply stores, but DOES get the following:

3 Points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases in the following categories each account anniversary year:

- Travel; including airfare, hotels, rental cars, train tickets, and taxis
- Shipping purchases
- Internet, cable and phone services
- Advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines

- 1 Point per $1 on all other purchases (with no limits on the number of points you can earn).

Also, notably, it follows the Sapphire Preferred personal card in offering a bonus when using points to book travel using the Ultimate Rewards web site: Points are worth 25% more when you redeem for travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. For example, 80,000 points are worth $1,000 towards travel.*

See discussion on using the UR portal, here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...ts-2017-a.html
3) What are the insurance and other benefits provided by this card?
The Benefits Guide is here: https://www.chasebenefits.com/inkpreferred
4) Can I product change from a different INK Card?
Since this card is newly released, options may change in the future, but, at this time, Chase is not permitting product change to Ink Preferred at this time (reported on 11/23/16).
See our ongoing discussion here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...16-onward.html

Question for the Ink Cashback card. When you are entitled to the $300 cashback signup bonus , after meeting the spending requirements, Can you just get that as 3000 points?

You mean 30,000 points? Yes.

If you're quite set on the Ink Cash (as opposed to the more lucrative Ink Preferred with its 80-100k Ultimate Rewards), I'd at least call up a local branch to apply with a Business Relationship Manager (BRM). The BRM can help you with the CIC with the higher 50k offer -- two family members opened the CIC this past November and December, and both earned 50k via this BRM route.

Thank you both so much. Yes 30,000 and 50,000 would be even better. As a note just trying to keep the min spending down since will have to already be satisfying for a CSR.

All INK cards earn Ultimate Rewards points. All UR points can be redeemed for cash, although that is not the best use. INK Cash is simply a marketing ploy by Chase to position the card to compete with cash back cards from other issuers.

Using for personal purchases

Planning to use my new CIP for the shipboard account on the holiday cruise. I hope it will still trigger 3x like the CSR even though cruise is not specifically mentioned in the CIP Travel category. However the FAQ seems to indicate Travel is defined the same way as CSR ... will report back if I earn it or forfeit the points which would be a guarantee if using CSR.
So, even though this is a business card to be used for business purchases, a cardholder is NOT in danger of forfeiting points earned on personal purchase? Right? Has anyone ever had problems with using card for personal purchases? All input would be appreciated.

Correct, Card issuers want us to use "business" cards because many consumer protection regulations do not apply. Simply marketing a card as a "business" product may not be enough to exempt it from those regulations, and they go the extra step of cautioning us to only use for business. It's largely a charade for the benefit of their regulators. HOWEVER, they could point to this if they were looking for a reason to justify closing an account, so spend wisely.

will be < 5/24 next month; suggestions for instant approval

I'll drop under 5/24 at the end of March and will probably apply for Ink Business Preferred. I currently have the Marriott Bus. and Ink Cash Bus. cards (plus the CSR and IHG cards).

The last business card I applied for (Marriott) I went through a grilling by the recon CSR and eventually was approved. My business has been in existence since 1992. It's a small business (less than $5K a yr income) now that I've retired. Long credit history & high FICO score.

For this next app I'm prepared to go though the 100 questions ordeal again if I have to. Any suggestions for getting an instant approval?

PS I do have another small business (commercial property) that I started 2+ yrs ago but it has not turned a profit yet. I'm hesitant to apply using this business.

It's very, very uncommon to be instantly approved for the CIP. I'd imagine it goes pending in a good 80%+ of the time. As you do have 4+ existing Chase accounts, could consider pre-emptively lowering the CL on a few of those to make room for the CIP. Hold off on applying for a month for those new CLs to be reflected in the credit databases.

Otherwise, can apply with a Business Relationship Manager, who can submit and guide the application through on your behalf, as well as qualify you for the 100k UR offer rather than the standard 80k -- of the ~seven CIP applications I've helped family/friends with, the apps using the BRM have been the easiest.

This is why it's generally recommended to NOT call Chase recon for a business card app (unless it's already been declined). You can often do more harm than good during the "grilling" process. Accept the fact that instant approvals are almost non-existent for this card and let it run through the 2-3 week process without intervening.

Thanks, guys. I will probably go to a local Chase bank & apply thru a BRM. Credit lines on current cards have already been dropped to ~$5K each. I guess I could go lower on the ones I rarely use.

Call your branch first to make an appointment. The chance of a BRM physically at your branch at the time of your visit AND available to meet with you is pretty slim. Good Luck!

Yes. I met with one a few months back. Chase only has 2 BRM in our area.

When they do a paper app. I'm guessing they fax it in rather than mail it? How long for an answer, approx.?

Paper apps are only necessary if you're over 5/24. Otherwise they have a way to do it online and get you 100k. That said, the paper app takes a few days after it's faxed before anyone even looks at it. After that, it's no different than usual.
