THIS THREAD IS NOW ARCHIVED.
PLEASE CONTINUE THE DISCUSSION HERE: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase-ultimate-rewards/2031752-chase-ink-business-preferred-2021-onward.html

================================================== ==================================
  • 100,000 Chase UR points after $15K spend in 3 months, with $95 annual fee (not waived the first year)

Additionally: For those who may be automatically excluded due to 5/24, the in-branch Business Rep can submit the application by Mail on your behalf (this avoids the application going through the computer check that would automatically exclude those who are already at 5/24.) First year's annual fee is not waived.

: Some members may have a referral link and would be very grateful if you would use it. See this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...ost-first.html

1) Should I apply using the link above or go to a nearby brick and mortar branch?
Sometimes there are better offers to be had in the branch (as referenced above). Some in-branch apps had/have the $95 AF waived 1st yr (ymmv). You can also have your banker check to see if you are pre-approved for this card (green screen on the banker's log in). However, it is likely simpler/easier to do a Chase business credit application Online as applying in-branch often requires providing documentation (proof of business, etc).

2) How do the rewards differ from other INK cards?
The bonus categories on this card are different than other cards in the INK family, notably, this card does NOT get a bonus at Office Supply stores, but DOES get the following:

3 Points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases in the following categories each account anniversary year:

- Travel; including airfare, hotels, rental cars, train tickets, and taxis
- Shipping purchases
- Internet, cable and phone services
- Advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines

- 1 Point per $1 on all other purchases (with no limits on the number of points you can earn).

Also, notably, it follows the Sapphire Preferred personal card in offering a bonus when using points to book travel using the Ultimate Rewards web site: Points are worth 25% more when you redeem for travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. For example, 80,000 points are worth $1,000 towards travel.*

See discussion on using the UR portal, here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...ts-2017-a.html
3) What are the insurance and other benefits provided by this card?
The Benefits Guide is here: https://www.chasebenefits.com/inkpreferred
4) Can I product change from a different INK Card?
Since this card is newly released, options may change in the future, but, at this time, Chase is not permitting product change to Ink Preferred at this time (reported on 11/23/16).
See our ongoing discussion here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...16-onward.html

My "business" is 1.5-2k/mo in travel reimbursement and also a side business reselling computer parts on ebay (maybe 3k/yr). I'm below 5/24 and never been denied for a CC in the past so this is potentially a new experience for me.
I had BRM apply for me as well which went to 2 weeks. It was approved later that day or next day. I think they are just too busy.

Generally if you are under 5/24 and dont have glaring issues with your credit, you should be fine.

My guess would be office supplies? No idea though

I might try purchasing larger amounts directly for my normal monthly spend, just a little leery with Chase flagging me for MS (seems unlikely).

Today marks 14 days since I sent in my application.

I just called the 1-800-432-3117 number and the automated messages says I applied on April 7th and I will be notified in 2 weeks of there decision in writing.

So from what I have read in this thread I guess that means I have been denied?

If I am correct what are the recommendations I do at this point?

Yes there is an option for "sole proprietorship". Use that and enter your SSN for the EIN/Tax ID section.

Can the people here that have a small business ( ie. eBay or Craigslist) or anyone that knows tell me can I use this Business Ink card as an everyday card until I meet my $5,000 requirement? I was going to make purchases from Walmart, some online stuff, Verizon Rewards, etc. or will Chase close my account because some of the things I'm purchasing are clearly not for business?

Chase cares enough about personal use of business cards to send email reminders to some cardholders. Discussion here:

link is down so I cant cut and paste exact language, but looking at t&c on chase site it now says...not eligible for bonus if you have or have ever had a card that participates in the same points or rewards program....so one UR card per person??!?...they going be like Amex and limit everyone to the point that nobody will ever get another card from them?!?

I do not see this:

Begin overlay.
Chase Ink Business PreferredSM Offer Details
Earn 80,000 Bonus Points

To qualify and receive your bonus, you must make Purchases totaling $5,000 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like charges such as travelers checks, foreign currency, and money orders, any checks that access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.) After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your account. To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
Earning Points

How you can earn points: You’ll earn points when you, or an authorized user, use an Ink Business PreferredSM card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count and won’t earn points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. 1 point: You’ll earn 1 point for each $1 spent. 3 points: You’ll earn 3 points total for each $1 of the first $150,000 spent each account anniversary year on combined purchases in the following rewards categories: shipping; advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines; travel; internet, cable, and phone services (two additional points on top of the 1 point per $1 earned on each purchase). You may see “3X” in marketing materials to refer to the 3 points total you earn for each dollar spent in these categories each account anniversary year. After $150,000 is spent on combined purchases in these categories each account anniversary year, you go back to earning 1 point for every dollar spent, with no maximum. We may offer you ways to earn bonus points through the program. You’ll find out more about the number of bonus points you can earn and any other terms at the time of the offer. How you can use your points: You can use your points to redeem for cash through an account statement credit or electronic deposit into an eligible checking or savings account held by a financial institution located in the United States. Other redemption options include gift cards and travel. When you use points to redeem for cash and gift cards, each point is worth $.01 (one cent), which means that 100 points equals $1 in redemption value. When you use points to redeem for travel, each point is worth $.0125 (one and a quarter cents), which means that 100 points is worth $1.25 in redemption value. You may see “Points are worth 25% more” in marketing materials to refer to the redemption value for travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards. Redemption values for other reward options may be worth more or less than that. Points expiration/losing points: Your points don’t expire as long as your account remains open, however, you will immediately lose all your points if your account status changes, or your account is closed for program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or other reasons described in the terms of the Rewards Program Agreement. Rewards Categories: Merchants who accept Visa/MasterCard credit cards are assigned a merchant code, which is determined by the merchant or its processor in accordance with Visa/MasterCard procedures based on the kinds of products and services they primarily sell. We group similar merchant codes into categories for purposes of making rewards offers to you. Please note: We make every effort to include all relevant merchant codes in our rewards categories. However, even though a merchant or some of the items that it sells may appear to fit within a rewards category, the merchant may not have a merchant code in that category. When this occurs, purchases with that merchant won’t qualify for rewards offers on purchases in that category. Purchases submitted by you, an authorized user, or the merchant through third-party payment accounts, mobile or wireless card readers, online or mobile digital wallets, or similar technology will not qualify in a rewards category if the technology is not set up to process the purchase in that rewards category. For more information about Chase rewards categories, see www.Chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs. Rewards Program Agreement: We will mail you a Rewards Program Agreement containing additional rewards program terms once your account is established. If you become a Chase Online customer, your Rewards Program Agreement will be available online as well.
Points are Worth 25% More

When you use points to redeem for cash, each point is worth $.01 (one cent), which means that 100 points equals $1 in redemption value. Each point you redeem for travel booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards is worth $.0125 (one and a quarter cents), which means that 100 points equals $1.25 in redemption value, and points are worth 25% more than if redeemed for cash. For example, 80,000 points are worth $1,000 towards travel, or $800 when redeemed for cash. The cost of travel is based on the rates and fares available through the Ultimate Rewards website and travel center, and may not reflect all rates and fares that are available through other sales channels.
Purchase/Travel Protection

These benefits are available when you use your card. Restrictions, limitations and exclusions apply. Most benefits are underwritten by unaffiliated insurance companies who are solely responsible for the administration and claims. There are specific time limits and documentation requirements. Once your account is opened we will send you a Guide to Benefits, which includes a full explanation of coverages.
Employee Cards

If any of your employees are allowed to use your account, they will be authorized users and will have the same charging privileges as you unless you establish individual spending limits for them. You are responsible for any use of your account by you, an authorized user or anyone else that you permit to use your account. You are responsible for repaying all balances on your account. All correspondence, including statements and notifications, will be sent to you. By submitting this request to add a user to your account, you are confirming that you have a relationship with the individual(s) whose name and address you’ve provided, that all their information is correct, and that you have their consent to add them. If Chase determines you’ve given us fraudulent information or did not have such consent, Chase can close this account.

it is in the pricing and terms link which is now up on the public offer listed above...it reads: Replying to this offer: If you omit any information on the form, we may deny your request for an account. Chase cardmembers who currently have or have had a Chase credit card in any Rewards Program associated with this offer, may not be eligible for a second Chase credit card in the same Rewards Program. Chase cardmembers currently receiving promotional pricing, or Chase cardmembers with a history of only using their current or prior Chase card for promotional pricing offers, are not eligible for a second Chase credit card with promotional pricing. You must have a valid permanent home address, and the Company must be headquartered, within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. The information about the costs of the card described in this form is accurate as of 3/21/2017. This information may have changed after that date. To find out what may have changed, write to us at Cardmember Service, P.O. Box 15043, Wilmington, DE 19850-5043

Don't know how stringently they enforce it, but this one card per program language sucks.
