Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

I got an unauthorized charge of $100 on my CSR acct for a hotel reservation in Moscow (I’m in Florida). I was able to dispute it and Chase sent me a new card and gave me back the credit but they don’t want to give me back the travel credit (from the $300) used on this transaction. Have any of you experience something like that?

I’m not sure if this is already in here, but the purchase of an EZPass transponder from Illinois and preloading my account ($30 total) was reimbursed.

That is strange. However, I would rather get the 3x points than the travel credit, because I'm sure I'll have enough travel charges to use the full credit eventually. Any purchase that pays 1x points rather than 3x has me losing 2x points forever.

Signed up for card in April 2017. Got $300 travel credit right away. January 2018, I received another $300 credit for the 2018 calendar year.
Question is - if I renew my card next month, and pay the $450 fee - will Chase credit me another $300 after that point (if I book travel later in April/May)? I know this is probably wishful thinking, but just curious how this will work (and if I have to wait until January 2019 to get another credit).

Anything that qualifies as Travel (and earns a category bonus) will also trigger the credit.

Thanks! So as long as VISA code Costco Travel as "travel" then the automatic credit will apply? Am I understanding this correctly?

Per Doctor of Credit, apparently points will no longer be earned on purchases covered by the $300 credit.

I'm about to renew and pay the AF. Does the $300 annual travel credit reimbursement start with the next billing cycle, or is it Calendar year January 2019?
