Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit

How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.

For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.

But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.

Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.

Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.

Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

Had some gift cards for American Airlines....my flight had $59.60 left after the gift cards...the $59.60 was reimbursed after three days, so American Airlines tickets are still reimbursing.

Since when an airline ticket is not reimbursed?

I believe the questions people asked were whether the AA GCs get reimbursement. Not the payment directly to buy a ticket.

I had a rental car booked through the UR portal that was charged to my card.It used $242 of the travel credit. I've since cancelled the booking and been refunded, but the credit is not updated. I'm sure someone else has been in a similar situation. Should I wait it out a bit, or contact Chase?

Edit: Well nevermind, my headmath was wrong. The reimbursement was actually better than having the travel credit back, since it will reimburse me for any charges to the card, rather than just travel. If they had also given me the travel credit back, I would have gotten double reimbursed.

Chase won't claw back the travel credit if there is a later refund. Don't worry about it.

Data point:
SEPTA (Philadelphia public transportation) Key card purchases count for the CSR travel credit. I tried both purchasing a reloadable card from a fare machine and reloading it online.

This might also be good for visitors who purchase “Quick Trip” tickets at the fare machines (Philadelphia subway and airport rail).

Has anyone used it on Trenatalia site (the Italian National Railway) and got 3x?

2 years ago Sapphire Preferred did not earn 3x because Trenatalia coded itself as "Freight" as if we human are cargoes... I notice the Italirail.com the private rail company is coded 3x per Wiki. Wonder if anyone has the experience with Trenatalia.

If AAA like other cruise agents that pay the cruise line directly via the cruise line's payment system, then the charge would show as from the cruise line directly, therefore earns 3x. You may want to check with AAA Travel on how the payment is handled.

I didn't have a CSP/CSR at the time, but in September 2017 when I used one of my other cards with a different issuer, Trenitalia coded as other travel.

I just pre-paid my turnpike tag account to get the credit. Plan to PC the CSR to a 2nd Freedom before the month ends.

Thanks for the info.

The train tickets we need are local trains from Civitavecchie to FCO but we are not flying out the same day, just to spend one night at Hilton FCO before flying out the next day. So may be we just wing it and get the tickets at the train station either counter or machine instead of booking online because local train tickets are good for any time on the route within 3 months versus online ticket is only good for the specific time you bought.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Travel Credit

I was wondering if there is any way to check your account online and see how much of the $300 travel credit you have used?

There is. Just log into your chase account, go into the ultimate rewards section and make sure you select your CSR. There's a box on the right that notes your current travel credit activity with how much is remaining.

Reversal of $300 Travel Credit if trip Canceled?

Hi,

I booked a hotel for which I received the $300 CHASE travel credit and then subsequently canceled that trip and received a full refund from the hotel. Will Chase take back my $300 CHASE credit? Note that 4 days after I canceled, I booked another hotel. If my initial $300 is reversed for canceling the first hotel, will it subsequently be restored for the charge to my card for second/substitute hotel?

Thanks in advance.

Chase won't take back the original travel credit.
