Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

I am confused regarding that date. The last time I earned travel credit was in 12/2018. I would have expected the date for the next year travel credit to begin after my statement closing date in 12/2019 (not 2020), What am I misinterpreting?

The original Travel Credit is for each Calendar Year. Later Chase changed the calculation to Member's Anniversary Year.
What is the Green Circle showing, 0 or a number?
Ours is the original version so it is on Calendar Year. Each New Calendar Year starts after the Dec Statement Closing Date, not the actual Calendar - and that has confused many many people during the first couple years.
For example, we used 2017's Calendar Year credit in Jan 2017, but also used 2018's Calendar Year credit on Dec 30 2017 after the Dec 2017 statement closed on Dec 24 2017 but before Jan 2018 started.
We used up 2019's credit all in Jan 2019 statement. If we have travel expenses occurred between now thru Dec 31, 2019, it will be credited as 2020's Calendar Year credit.
On the Dash Board of our card, the Received Amount is ZERO, despite the description is exactly the same as everybody's
Your next year's $300 Annual Travel Credit will begin after your statement closing date in 12/2020.*
But that is for NEXT Year. The Current Year just started with Today, as the Dec statement closed today. Therefore the $ amount is reset to Zero. Between now and 12/2020, there is $300 Travel Credit available. That is what the "Next Year" really means.
You need to know what "schedule" your card is on, to determine whether you still have the $300 available or it is gone.
The way Chase using 2 systems, as well as using the Dec statement closing date as the cut off, is indeed very confusing to many many people. Luckily the counter is what you need to pay attention to, and make sure before each Dec statement rolls in, the counter should read $300 and nothing less than that!

Chase Reserve travel credit online purchase
I just realized that I only have until 12/23/19 to use the rest of my travel credit. I have $147.50 left but my wife has been sick and I was not able to use at campgrounds that I had planned. Does anyone know if I can buy gift card or anything else online that would qualify as travel. If not what about hotel gift cards. Thanks for any help.

Call around town on hotels of the brands you intend to buy the gift cards and buy the gift cards at the property, today if possible. It takes 2 to 3 days for Chase to post the transaction. You are seriously running out of time if 12/23 is your deadline.
Another way is if you fly Southwest which has a reasonable cancellation/itinerary change policy - buy a ticket on their site today, that is as far out in the future as possible. Then handle the cancellation / change later when it needs to be. This might be the better way because timely posting is critical.

Why would that be odd? For older cardholders your travel credit resets sometime in December, as mentioned in the wiki. Even for newer cardholders, I don't believe that December charges are ineligible for credits assuming you haven't used up your $300.
