Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit

How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.

For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.

But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.

Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.

Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.

Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

This makes the most sense to me. Well put, mia!

Physical cards seem hard to come by. I had to call around a while bunch before finding one near me that carried them. Though in the Marriott forum it was recently mentioned that Sheraton properties are now selling Sheraton-branded gift cards (unclear yet if they are good Marriott-wide) and Marriott GCs are now supposedly integrated so they can be used at former SPG properties, so this all may be changing in terms of availability.

Is there any reason you're specifically looking for these for the CSR credit? There are lots of other ways to use it...

I dont have too much travel planned in future and already got few airline vouchers. Planning to burn the $300 and downgrade CSR since i am in the renewal month. Can they be bought from Marriott (gifts.marriott.com) website and still code as credits ?

Thread search suggests yes, but the posts are a bit old. I don't have direct experience unfortunately. Hopefully someone else with more recent data points will chime in...

Question on a new CSR card - I see that purchases counted toward the $300 travel credit don't earn UR points. This is a new card, and I've already purchased a flight that is more than $300, so that should use up the full credit. I understand all travel purchases after that earn 3X points. Do I have to wait until that first billing period is completed and the $300 credit shows as used before I book more travel? I have some expensive tickets to buy and I don't want to miss out on the points. Thanks!

You're good to go. The $300 will post, and after that, all travel purchases will earn 3x points. You don't need to wait.

getawaytoday.com has very good discounts for Disneyland tickets. Does anyone know if this website codes as travel? I know undercovertourist.com codes as travel but they presently do not have as good a discount.

And a silly question, where can I buy those Airbnb gift cards. I can't find gift cards on their website, and assuming that buying form a third party, won't count toward the $300 credit.

I thought it was as easy as buying it direct but it looks like that is no longer available (if it ever was). I am thinking about buying flexible AA tickets but I am not sure if it will work. I posted in AA forum but I will post same question here as it may be more applicable.

>I'm about to pull a trigger to spend chase $300 credit on refundable AA flight. I plan on cancelling the flight and getting a full refund after I get the credit on my statement. Is there anything I should be aware of? there's no $300 tickets so I'd book like $600 ticket. Hoping to get $300 statement and $600 refund from the flight. Seems simple so I question it.

Why do you need to do this, rather than earn the credit through natural travel spending?
