Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit

How are the dates calculated?

For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.

For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.

But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?

Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.

Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?

Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.

Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.

Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?

Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

I booked a refundable rental car but decided to cancel it. It posted then they refunded it the same day but not before the travel credit posted.

As others already said, your first credit card statement closing date is variable! If you apply now, your closing date may or may not fall in December and lose your 2016 $300 credit...(You'll still get the $300, but it will count toward 2017...) I guess it doesn't hurt to try unless you are willing to wait until October 2017.
I could be wrong, but isn't your first statement date guaranteed to be in Dec? A statement can't be more than 30 days or so, so your first statement can't be in Jan, it has to fall in late Dec at most. If you apply late Nov, then it's possible that your first statement could be in Jan, if you get your card early Dec.

I forget that some people may not get immediate approval... You're right. As others have stated, the first statement closing date is variable, but often can be predicted.

Anyway, my datapoint: Applied and approved Nov 16. Received card Nov 19 afternoon via UPS. First statement close date is Dec 6.

Hoping to apply for the card today and receive it by the next week and have the first statement close somewhere in the end of December. Does this sound correct? Thanks!
As long as you get an instant approval, you should be good to go. If your approval sits in the queue with a "7-10 day" or longer notice, the delays can drag on. So apply sooner, rather than later.

How long ago was that? They didn't take credit back? I'm doing similar experiment.

So a couple of data points on travel categories.

I did several charges for Transport for New South Wales in Sydney, their public transportation entity.

No 3X points on those.

I also did a couple of Wifi charges on the AA flights to and from Sydney and it was charged to Panasonic which runs their Wifi and no bonus points there either.

Oh well.

I put on bigger charges for taxis to and from SYD and from MEL and those got 3X points though, charges of about $40 a couple of times and $50 once.

A couple days ago. They may take it back. I didn't do it to get the credit, but because I am planning a long trip but changed my mind on that particular piece. I just put a couple hotels on there that will cover the full $300, so won't matter if they claw back from the other.

Sapphire Reserve Annual travel credit

Trying to complete my annual travel credit before end of year. Will the purchase of WN gift cards from Southwest.com be reimbursed by Chase as a travel credit?

Now that your post has been moved to the correct forum please read the wiki above. If it's a physical GC sold by SWA you're 'probably' OK. If it's an e-cert GC you may be out of luck. Or just book a refundable airline tix and cancel after your Dec. stmt posts. Chase will NOT claw back a travel credit.

EZ-Pass from Pennsylvania works. You need to follow what earlier posts said and wait until it is out of the PENDING stage. If it is pending, travel credit won't be. Also, I wouldn't wait until the last minute. It took 2 days for the transaction to finalize. Give yourself at least a week to meet the December bill deadline. DO NOT WAIT until December 31st.

I just got my CSR card last month and would like to take advantage of the $300 credit before the end of the year. I don't have any travel plans between now and then so I was wondering if it is possible to purchase a physical gift card from the Marriott website for a future Marriott stay in order to have that credit me $300.

Thank you!
