Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.
What counts as Travel?
Gas Station and Grocery Store purchases will also count through 12/31/21. (See post 1521.)
The following items have been reimbursed.
Airline purchases, fees & gift cards:

Ok....so I had to call back because something didn't sound right.
I spoke with a different CR this morning who said whatever the CR rep from last night said to you is completely wrong. I will get full $300 thru Dec 31. And then it resets on Jan 1 for another $300. She also said the rep from last night was also wrong when she told me that the AF is waived the first year....
Some training they have given their reps!!
Btw...it seems getting this card in December is way to go...you get a quick $300 credit...and another $300 a few weeks later...

Charges that hit your January 2017 statement will count towards your 2017 travel credit.
Just to be clear. The transaction date doesn't matter. The Posting Date must be on the December 2016 Statement for the 2016 credit to apply.
This was one of the things that was clear in the agreement and materials provided with the card.

This has probably been covered somewhere in the big CSR thread, but I couldn't find it, so asking here:
Let's say I apply for this card, meet the $4000 min spend and get the 100k bonus points. I also get the $300 travel credit this year, and $300 credit early in 2017.
What happens if I cancel the card before the annual fee is due again later in 2017?
Surely they wouldn't allow this loophole for someone to claim $600 in travel credits and 100k in bonus points just for paying the initial $450 fee?

Don't think I can edit the wiki, but two things to add to it would be
counted for travel credit: Chicago Parking Meters
Doesn't count: AAA - Chicago Membership (didn't post as travel on CSP) (If the membership isn't counted as travel, most likely nothing charged to AAA including gift cards).
