Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

I was able to buy $300 in gift cards from Meijer (Midwest grocery chain), which posted as groceries, so it triggered my annual $300 travel credit.
I was an early adopter of the CSR, so I was able to squeeze in the extra $300 "travel" credit before closing out the card.
Thank you to the sage FT'ers that coached me through the process of getting that extra year of travel credit!

Chase reserve travel credit reimbursement
Hi, I recently spent $300 on groceries using the Chase Reserve, but only received $223.02 in travel credit reimbursement. I haven't received any other travel credit, so I'm not sure why that travel credit amount. Any explanation?

Wiki Says AirBnB gift cards trigger credit, That is not true. AirBnB GC is managed by third party - LaunchGiftCards. Tried and have not received credit.

I opened my account in early 2020, I can't remember the exact date and I can't find the email regarding when I opened the account. However, I did find an email dated 2/4/20 regarding spend tracking to receive my 50k bonus (Titled: "xxxxx, see how close you are to your new account bonus"). I also left the country on 2/2/20 with the physical card in my possession. So that means my account was fully open by then and I could have made a charge on that day that was eligible for the travel credit. The first statement was cut on February 21, 2020 and the annual fee was billed on 2/1/20 which I understood to be the beginning of my cardmember year.
I spent my 2020 $300 credit pretty much right away after opening the card on February 10, 2020 at a hotel I stayed at while away and was immediately reimbursed.
I thought that my 2021 credit would reset on 2/1/21 because that's when my new cardmember year begins and that is when my annual fee for this year was billed. On 2/17/21 I charged $300 at my local grocery but yesterday when I still hadn't gotten credit I reached out to Chase via secure message. I was told my travel credit resets on 2/21/21 and I was really disappointed to hear that because that's well over a full year since I was able to use my credit in 2020 and I don't think that's fair. If you can get the credit once every cardmember year that means once every 365 days from when you open/receive the card. It was never made clear to me that my first credit can happen between 2/1/20 and 2/21/21 and the next credit can only begin on 2/21/21. I asked for clarification on this via SM but I was told my message has been forwarded and I will receive a response within 3 to 5 days.

So I guess it's my bad that I wasn't aware my credit resets after 2/21 every year because that's my statement closing date. I thought that since I opened my card last year at the very latest 2/2 and I used my credit by 2/10 then a full year later I can use it again.
I buy groceries every week, but I like using my Gold Rewards card for 4x Amex points. At least I got 3x here but I'm still annoyed (I guess at myself for not educating myself properly on how the travel credit for this card works as I'm used to the Amex one where it resets 1/1 every year).

The expanded $300 categories has been nice and flexible - got in a non-US grocery store as expected but was happily surprised when I got credit for a meal (non-stay) at the Mandarin Oriental in Shanghai. I hope they keep 3X points in groceries longer. I haven't bee on a plane in 11 months and 3 weeks so Priority pass (my big reason for the card) has been not been useful

I have not been able to find the $300 travel credit circle in my Chase App. I thought I used to see it in the App. Have it been moved or removed from the App.?
