However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017

Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

Your right, I misread your post, sorry. At any rate, the latest information available is that the $100 credit only applies to RC & St. Regis hotel stays of 2 or more nights and you can start using this perk from April 2019.

Nothing to apologize for! I'm just disappointed the list of hotel brands isn't longer... Thanks for the link to FM.

Right now, as of 2/3/3019, our status still shows Platinum Elite for almost all RC cardholders. But I do not think we are out of the woods yet. The 15 night credit still has yet to post. So it seems the account still have not been updated for 2019 yet. This really bad on Marriott side. We still do not know what status we'll be for 2019.

Personally, as long as I'm Plat through Feb 14 for a stay in Hawaii, I'll be happy

I have faith in Marriott based on their actions with the RC card so far.

What I expect, and what would be fair, is for those that have had the RC card prior to the change of T & Cs is to grandfather those in for the rest of eternity to get a free breakfast equivalent status level if they meet their annual 10k spend.

I'm confused. You say "based on their actions so far", but their actions so far are to do precisely the opposite of what you just described you expect will happen. Are you actually aware of the changes made to the card? Going forward if you want a status with breakfast you have to spend 75K, plain and simple. Doesn't matter when you got it.

Anyone have any luck using their club level upgrades on a stay booked with the free night certificates? Booked for my honeymoon in August at the RC San Francisco, hoping for a special surprise. On the fence about calling in now and asking to apply the club level upgrades.

The club certificates can only be used for paid stays, not for reward bookings. You can always call to inquire to see if they can accommodate your special occasion. Good luck.

There is no way to do that. They can only be attached to a paid booking using the Z38 rate code.

for those that got the card last minute and didn't meet the annual spend requirement last year, I suspect that upon the Bonvoy migration, you will have the equivalent status equal to no breakfast benefits.
You know what, you might be right. I wasn't entirely convinced, but now that the new categories have been announced. I am almost certain that Marriott will make this right in order to keep their customer base happy. Just like they did with the new reward categories.

Seems like we are in the clear with the RC card and Platinum until the end of 2019? Or at least until each individual's renewal date?

We are not out of woods yet. The Marriott status is still a thing in progress. I still have yet to receive the 15 night credit. Not sure about status. Marriott staff could not tell. I think this will be certain at end of February.

I do not think Marriott gets a lot to loss with the watered down Platinum status. It is the same old Marriott Gold status we were supposed to get anyhow.

I've given up on Marriott and their status after the category changes. All of the credit card free nights have become way tougher to get good value on.

Well, Marriott makes this harder. You still need to do your homework to get most value out of it. I had good use of the 35k free nights and booked stay at a very good Ritz Carlton property. But this has since been upgraded to Cat 6 (50K) hotel. Still if you pay about $100 AF (base Marriott card) for a 35k hotel, it is well worth it. I sometimes redeem two free nights for the family. The free nights are earned to get spent. Just do not count nickel and dimes to save pennies with travel. Travel is luxury experience. This is why we have the RC card, not the CHOICE or Best Western Inn cards etc.
