However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017

Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

The Visa infinite program is different from the $300 travel credit.

Right. And that is why people are telling you that your answer (below) to a question about the $300 travel credit was factually incorrect. It was not a question about the Visa Infinite program.

I just converted my Marriott Boundless into Ritz-Carlton.
Any recent experience on reimbursing the $300 travel credit? Is there a forum thread talking about this?
Thanks!

I don't know why that was so hard to understand.

RedSun, I have been credited for BA and IB fees using the $300 reimbursement benefit. The terms of the $100 discount on domestic tickets are separate from that.

Moderator caution

Please do not dwell on the fact that a poster conflated two airline-related benefits. Everyone makes mistakes. Move on.

In case your free night certificate does not post as expected is worth while contacting Chase. I'm pretty sure they manually intervened and posted my free night certificate following my contact. (For reference, upgrade certificates posted in July, 50K certificate posted in August, and annual fee is expected to post in September).

I'm curious why you expect the fee to post much later than the free night. My fee, upgrades, and free night posted in July, although the free night arrived on the 29th.

Because with Chase the fee posts on the 1st of the month after one "true" anniversary.

The upgrade certificates were always posted a month before the "true" anniversary and I expected the free night to post at the same time, based on past experience with other Chase cards. This year all the certificates had been posting a little latter than expected but still before the annual fee posts.

In the past the certificates were always posted in July, "true" anniversary date in August and fee posting in September. This had been consistent for the 5-6 years I have the card (though the certificates used to post in August for the first cycle I believe, and after that moved to July).

Global entry vs. tsa pre

This has been discussed a few times previously. Just wanted to save anyone else from a "duh" moment like I just had. This card only covers the $100 global entry fee, not the $85 TSA pre check fee. I don't know of another card that does it this way. Last month we decided to get our 14 y/o Tsa pre as she was on a travelling Sports team and does not have a passport and didn't want to endure the long waits for global entry Interviews. I made the mistake of using this card instead of like 8 others between my wife and I that will reimburse either. $85 mistake. No mercy from Chase. Lesson learned to research and not assume. Still a keeper card!

just a datapoint, but in early August 2019 I reduced my Ritz CL to $1,200 to use the AF trick...within two days I had my fee refunded...my next annual fee would post on September 1, so lets see if I get the 2nd year for free as well or if the first year refund has to be used to offset it

THe 50k cert already posted and Ive already double dipped on the $300 travel credit

Assuming that I do get charged $450 for the 2nd year, is there any reason to still keep this (such as maintaining plat status until next yr?) - 2nd yr cost will be $150 after next travel credit - $100 fare perk isnt useful for me as Im in Canada and dont do a lot of inter US flying

The context of the rest of your post indicates to me that it's possible you meant August 2018. Can you confirm one way or the other?

i did indeed mean August 2019

got the card in August 2018 - paid first annual fee (which posted September 2018) - in August 2019 reduced CL and the AF was refunded - sitting in a credit balance now so waiting to see what happens with 2nd year AF

I got $600 in travel credit (once in 2018 and again in early 2019 back when it was based on once in calendar year) - so if the 2nd AF does post, since the certificate has posted on my marriott account, I wonder whether I should keep it or not

IF 2nd AF does not post, then easy decision
