However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

Curious if anyone has used the $100 resort credit and knows how it's supposed to work?
Back in January I made a booking using the Z38 rate for a Club Level upgrade and the $100 resort credit. I checked into the property a few hours ago and while they did give me access to the Club Lounge, I've just realized that they did not mention the $100 whatsoever. Should they have given me a voucher, or is it something that they'll automatically take off the bill when I check out?

Just to be clear, Club Level upgrades are not applicable to Virtuoso bookings, correct? Since you have to book with RC's agents to get the upgrade?

I've had them applied to both awards and fhr rates at check-in (pre-Bonvoy). It required having the hotel call the Ritz platinum line. It's quite possible that the hotel simply gave me a "free" upgrade to club at the same time a Ritz agent on the other end of the phone took a cert out of my account. I'll never know (or care). But that's why I referenced "per terms" and "in practice". I've also been told my rate is ineligible. Mostly, if I think the club upgrade is high enough value, I'll book a qualifying rate through Ritz and confirm upgrades at booking. However, if you have the upgrades sitting in your account/expiring, and you're checking into a Ritz with a nice club floor, it certainly doesn't hurt to ask the front desk agent.

Is anyone sitting on RC 60K free night certs? I stupidly forgot to use them before the March 5th devaluations. Anyone have have any luck getting Marriott to honor the pre-devaluation categories with the certs? From what gather, it's not going to be straightforward to get the same value out of them, unfortunately.

Do you guys use this card at stays anymore ? I’ve been using CSR for hotel stays but wondering if math still works with the ritz 6x. Thanks.

i have several Marriott stays coming up and think I have decided to use my Ritz over my CSR to pay. I seem to be piling up my UR points these days while it is harder to add to my Marriott stash. I will most likely use the additional Marriott points to transfer out to an airline rather than use for future stays.

But most of my stays are paid with points, so I care less about this question now.

Is the Ritz-Carlton card worth product changing to as an old Marriott card holder? I have one and love it, spouse uses a Sapphire Reserve but also has an old Marriott Premier. I honestly can't recommend it unless you use it very specifically and the Sapphire Reserve is better all-around. The concern is of course it's going the way of the UA/CO Presidential Plus and never coming back...

I got the card last July so the renewal is up in a few months. If i do not renew, do I keep the platinum status until Feb 2020 or will it drop off some time after the cancellation?

Having had the card the first time around as a Visa Signature, yes they do claw back! Do not count on having any card-derived status if you cancel you will be returned to your original earned by nights status
