However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

And primary rental card insurance, and the ability of the AUs to use the Visa air discount. Plus, once in a blue moon (and/or in suburban DC), you can find a decent rate for a couple of nights at a Ritz-Carlton and eat and drink your way through the lounge. But, yeah, other than all of that, what's the point?

I mean, if they're willing to, then why not? But based off the scattered and very dated retention offers for this card in the master thread I can't imagine there would be any worthwhile retention offers for a discontinued card that oddly has gotten even better in the interim. Personally I didn't see this card as a keeper, but I've changed my tune over the last few months.

Has anyone tried using the travel credit for the physical gift cards they sell in Delta Sky Clubs?

Honestly, I don't think I could ever give up this card. Had to call Chase about a bunch of my other accounts and when I did, I got routed to the JP Morgan Exec line and they just handle everything.

I received the card in June 2018. I'm quite happy with its benefits, but I note that the card expires in five years. But, since it's no longer available, does everyone think it will even last five years? Or might Marriott offer a luxury card replacement under its name in the interim that we have no choice but to switch over to? If they did, I would imagine that they might eliminate all the Ritz-specific benefits (in order to make it a "Marriott" card) such as the Club upgrade certificates. Any thoughts?

Marriott may issue a Bonvoy card to replace the Ritz Carton!
